World Cyber Games 2008

Wateen Telecom is proud to announce that earlier this year we secured the rights to World Cyber Games (WCG) for Pakistan and are now ready to conduct the tournament which will select the Pakistani team that will participate in the international competition later this year.

The event will be conducted in 8 cities with 18 participating gaming cafes nationwide. It will be the largest event of this scale ever conducted in Pakistan and will be marking the launch of Wateen’s Online Gaming Service.

The café preliminaries will be conducted from 20th Sept onwards with the National Final in Lahore, Pakistan on the 4th-5th of October. We are expecting over 5000 thousand participants country-wide to compete in 6 games for a prize money of 3 lakhs along with the opportunity to represent Pakistan in the WCG Grand Finals to be hosted in Cologne, Germany later this year.

The audience was starting to announce the position of our player in pistol round. No offence to 5Fraggers, they played well. Wateen is obviously unable to conduct a simple tournament. 13 hour delay on the first day, and now this? The rule was:

If the crowd tells positions using the live LCDs, the team and the member of the audience BOTH will be disqualified.

Then, Mr Ali Ihsan comes up and says ?If i2D doesn?t play within 1 minute, they?re disqualified?.
